I’ve realized some baby blanket with the perfect heart and I hope you like that I give you the pattern!

O = 1 yarn around needle

\ = k2tog

/ = slip one, 1 knit, pass the slip stitch over

* = slip one knitwise (sl1 kw), k2tog, pass slipped stitch over (psso)

+ = k2tog, pass reverse this st. on the left needle, pass over the next st. on this, pass the st. on the right needle

I suggest this baby blanket for the beginners because it’s very simple to knit!

You can realize this in every colour (3 or 4 different colours) and you need 2 ball of each.

The stripes can be higher or lower, these are 14 rows.

This measure 50 x 50 cm, 20×20 inches, but you can choose the measure simply by stopping to increse and starting to decrease.

Necessary:

needle n. 4 mm / US 6

2 ball for each colour ( min. 6 ball) I used Drops Muskat in 3 different green

I suggest to read all the pattern before begin!

Let’s go!

cast on the needle 2 st. with the first colour.

Knit all the rows (garther st.) and increase after the penultimare st, like this:

Row 1 – knit 1, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (3 st.)

Row 2 – knit 2, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (4 st.)

Row 3 – knit 3, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (5 st.)

Row 4 – knit 4, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (6 st.)

Row 5 – knit 5, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (7 st.)

Change the colour every 14 rows.

When one of the edge measures 50 cm (20 inches) knit 2 rows without increase and begin the decrease like this:

Row 1 – knit 1,  slip one, 1 knit, pass the slip stitch over, knit until the end of the row.

Row 2 – knit 1,  slip one, 1 knit, pass the slip stitch over, knit until the end of the row.

Continue until you have only 3 st. on the needle.

Cast off the st.

Please read all the instruction before beginning to knit!
Size: 60 cm x 80 cm / 23 x 32 inches
Necessary:
– 3 balls of Drops Design Big Merino in grey
– 1 ball of Drops Design Big Merino in lavender
– 1 ball of Drops Design Big Merino in amethyst
– 1 ball of Drops Design Big Merino in light pink
– 1 ball of Drops Design Big Merino in plum
– Needles N. 5 / US 8
– marker
decrease: knit 2 stitches together (k2tog)
increase: yarn over

Let’s go:
Cast on 120 stitches on the needle
Row 1 – knit
Row 2 – knit

In this row place Marker after 5 st, every 22, and you will have 5 left
Row 3 – knit 5 st ( for the border in garter st) “M, decrease, knit 8, increase, increase, knit 7, decrease, knit 1, “M, repeat this until the last 5 and knit them.
Row 4 – purl

Repeate rows 3 and 4 and change the color every 8 rows
Alternate grey (A) with the other colors like this:
A – B – A – C – A – D – A – E … and finish with color A
Continue until 79cm / 31 inches and now work row 1 and 2
Cast off all the stitches
Finish!!
Obviously this model can be modified in colors and size, for changing width cast on 22 stitches more or 22 less.
