R1: knit

Put the marker:

R2: 5 knit (K), put the marker (M), 18 K, M, 18 K, M, 18 K, M, 18 K, M, 5 K

R3: 5 K, “k2tog, 6 k, 1 yarn over, 6 D, k2tog, 1K” repeat until the last M , 5K

R4: purl

R5-8: repeat the row 3 and 4 for 2 times

R9-12: with color B repeat for 2 times the rows 3 e 4

R13-20: with color C repeat for 4 times the rows  3 e 4

R21-24: with color B repeat for 2 times the rows 3 e 4

R25-32: with color D repeat for 4 times the rows 3 e 4

I suggest this baby blanket for the beginners because it’s very simple to knit!

You can realize this in every colour (3 or 4 different colours) and you need 2 ball of each.

The stripes can be higher or lower, these are 14 rows.

This measure 50 x 50 cm, 20×20 inches, but you can choose the measure simply by stopping to increse and starting to decrease.

Necessary:

needle n. 4 mm / US 6

2 ball for each colour ( min. 6 ball) I used Drops Muskat in 3 different green

I suggest to read all the pattern before begin!

Let’s go!

cast on the needle 2 st. with the first colour.

Knit all the rows (garther st.) and increase after the penultimare st, like this:

Row 1 – knit 1, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (3 st.)

Row 2 – knit 2, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (4 st.)

Row 3 – knit 3, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (5 st.)

Row 4 – knit 4, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (6 st.)

Row 5 – knit 5, 1 yarn around the needle, knit 1 (7 st.)

Change the colour every 14 rows.

When one of the edge measures 50 cm (20 inches) knit 2 rows without increase and begin the decrease like this:

Row 1 – knit 1,  slip one, 1 knit, pass the slip stitch over, knit until the end of the row.

Row 2 – knit 1,  slip one, 1 knit, pass the slip stitch over, knit until the end of the row.

Continue until you have only 3 st. on the needle.

Cast off the st.

Finish!

This blanket is very funny, in garter stitch and with a lovely hood.
I’ve used one yarn 50% cotton and 50% wool, it’s perfect for midseason and for summer.
This is for a baby girl but it’s a good model for a boy also.

Necessary:
2 balls of Cotton Merino Drops Design in pink
2 balls of Cotton Merino Drops Design in violet
needles US 6 / 4.00 mm

Cast on 3 stitch on needle with a violet yarn and knit one row.

From now every row make one after the first stitch.
